Tuck the Dog needs a home

Tuck is one of our very special rescues, having been with us for basically all of his life after coming to us as a puppy in 2013. While we've had him for adoption since and even at some of our events, Tuck just doesn't "show well" which has led to him being with us for so long. But that doesn't mean that he isn't a simply wonderful fellow and well deserving of his own home.

Tuck was brought to us as a puppy of only about 3 months of age. When his former owner asked if we could take him and his sister, Tina, into our rescue, we had to ask him to bring them back in a couple of days so that we could prepared a kennel for them. Although the man agreed, he simply left our rescue and then abandoned both pups into the yard of a lady, who witnessed his actions, and drove away. The following day, the woman brought both pups to us and told us what this man had done.

Growing up in the rescue, Tuck has become accustomed to life at SoCo Rescue. While he is very friendly to those of us that he knows, he will

bark defensively at strangers.  But after he gets to know someone, he is very friendly towards them. We're confident that if just the right person comes along, someone willing to be a little patient with him, then they'll be gaining a wonderful and devoted companion. Tuck does love a good game of fetch and his doggie treats, both of which are good ways to make friends with this big, lovable fellow.

Over the years Tuck has been kept up to date on all of his yearly vaccinations, wormings and monthly preventatives, which has also led him to being heart worm negative. He's definitely a healthy boy who could even stand to loose a few pounds! Of course he'll need some training to become fully acclimated to living in a home but we'd expect that he'd pick up on those qualities rather quickly.

If another dog is to be included in the home, a meet and greet would be required prior to the adoption. We don't know how he'll be with cats as he's never been around them.

If you can find it in your heart to give this very special fellow the opportunity that he deserves, then please submit an application at socorescue.com
